What’s recorded

Every change to people records, pay, leave, performance, checklists, company documents, roles and settings is recorded with the person who made it, the time and the old and new values.

Find a change

  1. Go to Administration → Audit log.
  2. Pick an area to narrow the list. The number on each area shows how many changes it holds:
    • People & profiles: employee records, personal details, emergency contacts, documents, notes and missing details marked Not needed
    • Employment & pay: role, hours and contractor rate changes, plus each time someone views a person’s pay from Xero
    • Time off: leave requests, balance entries, leave types and public holidays
    • Performance: review cycles, reviews, goals, check-ins and feedback
    • Onboarding & checklists: checklists, items and templates
    • Company documents: policies and acknowledgements
    • Organisation & access: company settings, locations, departments, teams, member roles and View as sessions
  3. Under Type of change, choose Created, Updated, Deleted or Purged (removed under record-retention rules).
  4. Updates list each field that changed, with its old and new value.
  5. Use Older changes at the bottom to page back through history. Your filters stay applied.

When you’re viewing all areas, each entry shows its area as a tag. Click the tag to filter to that area.

The audit log can’t be edited or deleted, which makes it useful for compliance and settling disputes.
